We are a Small Church with a Big Heart!

As an Episcopal church we are art of the historic One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church the foundations of which were laid by Jesus Christ himself and placed upon the shoulders of the Apostles and their successors through the centuries. Our branch or expression of that historic church is rooted in the British Isles. In the early centuries it was guided and directed by the elder or senior bishops in Rome as was the bulk of the Christian World. In the 1500’s those ties were strained and the Church in England began to set its own course of governance, as did sister church in many other parts of Christendom. This movement was called the “Reformation” as local churches both undertook needed reform and adaptation. The Church in the British Isles maintained “catholic” liturgy and essential doctrine but accepted more “protestant” governance. Thus the Church in England became the Church of England. As was the case in Scotland, it’s American branch used the designation “Episcopal” to underscore its continued biblical governance by Bishops (in Greek: “episcopos”). Thus our “little church” is part of a worldwide branch of Christianity with roots in the historic biblical church of the Apostles and marked by the best of both “catholic” and “protestant” understandings.

  BIBLE Based and Bible-Believing

In our statement of belief we declare that we believe the Holy Scriptures contain “all things necessary for salvation” and are “the inspired Word of God.”

Jesus Christ is the cornerstone upon which our Faith rests. And, we believe the Church is blessed with three gifts from God: Scripture (The Holy Bible); Tradition (the liturgies, doctrines, and beliefs held and proclaimed through the centuries); and Reason (the Holy Spirit acting today though it’s people.)
